The Escape

Well last week wasn’t too bad. It was just another week of school with the exception of…..Texas Relays. My good friend Cara had a bit of bad luck with her car keys, but we were able to retrieve them. Her friend Lilly showed us some hospitality after walking all the way to Cara’s car only to be locked out. It was really kind of her. I did try some new food, courtesy of Dino and Glenn. It was really good actually. They didn’t tell me until I was halfway finished with the egg in the picture that it is known as the “thousand-year egg”, and told me really look closely at what I’m eating. It was really good, so they couldn’t scare me haha. I initially had several things to take care of in Austin this weekend, but plans changed and deadlines got moved around, so after a meeting with my favorite professor Glenn Downing to get some advice on a big project I am working on, I packed up and got out of Austin as quickly as possible. Relays could be fun, but having being here through 3 of them already I decided not to stay in town for the craziness. Home was the best choice for the weekend, as my mom will soon be traveling back to Nigeria with my older brother for a wedding. It was good to see them again, as well as some old friends back home. A friend had her birthday event at a place called Callisto’s in Richardson. It was a simple venue, and while there are some amazing venues in Austin that are hard to compare to (just my opinion), she had a good time for her birthday event so that is what is important. I got to see Gerald, who has stocked up on his already impressive collection of swords and wall mounted decoration. It’s good to see he is doing well and adapted to life in the Dallas area.

I ended the weekend with some relaxing at Flying Saucer in Addison. I have really come to like this place. Oh and like always, I got Braums cookies, but this time I bought 36 of them to bring back…

Oh and I caught the remains of Texas Relays last night. I’m happy I missed the craziness.
This year I have done well to avoid the bulk of both Round Up and Texas Relays. Well that’s about it. It was not a very eventful week. Take care all. I’ll just leave this down here before it’s taken down…
