The year is just flying by, as it is already July. With the Spain vacation complete and with a lot to discuss since April, I felt that I was long overdue to make a post. In April, I found out my old friend Danielle would be going to Paris and then moving to Turkey, so I had to see her before she moved away. We have been friends since elementary school, and I had not seen her much since she moved to New York, so I went back to Dallas for a visit. I’m also very glad she finally got to meet Gloria.

After a nice lunch and drinks, we said our goodbyes for now. In April, after our company outing to Hopdoddy Burger Bar, and to Alamo Drafthouse to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier (which, by the way, was one of my favorite Marvel movies, even though I wasn’t expecting much of it), my coworker Bryan decided I was long overdue to try Ramen Tatsu-Ya. We arrived around 8 on a Friday night. There was a line but it wasn’t ridiculous. After being seated, I decided to try the Tonkotsu Original with Ajitama (Creamy pork noodle soup with eggs), and I really enjoyed it. It had also been years since I last had Ramune to drink, so I had to get one.
I can be really slow when it comes to trying some of the newer places, but this was worth it. The following week I got to try The Silo with Anita. We ended up getting some of their appetizers and a few of their drinks. It was a decent experience. There are still many places on the east side of town that I want to try.
I also took a step out to the West side of town, which is really good with the right people.
Donah’s birthday weekend came, and it was another fun gathering. I’m glad to have these people in my life.
The most important part of the start of the summer was my sister’s college graduation. It’s crazy how far we have come, and I couldn’t be more proud!
Even the uncles came down for the event.
Going home for the weekend, Gloria and I stopped by Colleen’s place. It’s always good to see her, as she was one of my first friends at UT and endured the UT computer science program with me. Someday, we will start that gaming company that we have always dreamed of.
This summer has been wonderful so far. Sorry I’ve been so slow to update this. Birthday and a details of my summer vacation to Ibiza/Spain coming by the end of the week.
Song of the post: XXYYXX – Alone. I heard this artist while at Donah’s birthday party. His tracks are very smooth and relaxing, and I music that I listen to a lot at work now.
Apology accepted. 🙂
Yay! I love how you capture every moment in your life. You’re right we have came along way. Thanks again for all your support. You’re the best!
Everyone looks so good and dapper in your posts!
